Big Brook Barn

Set within the rolling countryside of North Devon, this bespoke new-build dwelling makes innovative use of the site’s existing concrete-frame agricultural barn to secure planning through a recognised fallback position. By sensitively reimagining the permitted structure, the proposals craft a refined, high-performance home that sits comfortably within its rural setting.

The design retains the agricultural character of the original barn while elevating it with a contemporary architectural language. Large windows frame sweeping views of the surrounding landscape, filling the interior with natural light and connecting the home with its countryside context.

Inside, the dwelling is conceived to offer exceptional comfort and energy efficiency, with high-specification materials and modern environmental technologies working in harmony with the rural aesthetic.
